Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about publishing with, reviewing for, and reading Tudor Journals.
What is Tudor Journals?▾
Tudor Journals is an institutional editorial-management and academic-publishing platform. It supports the full scholarly workflow — submission, double-anonymized peer review, editorial decisions, production and publication — across multiple journals.
How do I create an account?▾
Click Create account in the top menu and register with your name and email. You will receive a verification email — confirm it and you can sign in. Every new account is an Author by default; editors can additionally invite you as a reviewer.
How do I submit a manuscript?▾
Sign in, choose Submit your manuscript, and follow the guided submission wizard: select the journal and section, enter the title, abstract and keywords, add co-authors and ORCID, upload your files, and confirm the ethical declarations before submitting.
Are there fees to publish or read articles?▾
It depends on the journal — many charge nothing. Each journal's fee status is shown transparently before you submit. See the Pricing page and our Editorial Costs & Resource Use policy to understand how any fees are applied.
How does peer review work?▾
Submissions undergo an initial editorial screening, then are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers under a double-anonymized process. Editors weigh the reviews and make the final decision. See our Peer Review Policy.
How long does the review process take?▾
Timelines vary by journal and field. Many journals publish their average speed (time to first decision, to publication) on their home page. You can always track your manuscript's current status in real time from your dashboard.
How do I track my submission?▾
Your author dashboard shows the live status of every manuscript, editorial decisions, requests for revision, and proofs awaiting your approval. You will also receive email notifications at each step.
What languages are supported for articles?▾
Articles can be published in several languages (English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian). The article's language is shown as a flag on the article page and in listings.
What is the difference between open and paid access?▾
Open-access articles are free to read and download. Paid-access articles show the abstract and a short excerpt; full access can be purchased. Purchased articles appear under My Downloads in your dashboard.
How do I become a reviewer?▾
Indicate your areas of expertise in your profile. Editors invite reviewers based on expertise and availability — you can accept or decline each invitation. Editors-in-chief can also register and invite reviewers directly.
Do published articles receive a DOI?▾
Yes. When a journal has a DOI prefix configured, each published article is assigned a DOI and can be registered with Crossref, ensuring a permanent, citable link to the version of record.
How is research integrity handled?▾
Tudor Journals follows COPE guidelines. Submissions may undergo similarity checks, AI use must be disclosed, and ethical declarations are required. See our Publication Ethics and AI Use Policy.
How do I change my email or password?▾
Open Profile & settings from the account menu. There you can update your email (a verification link is sent to the new address) and change your password. If you forgot your password, use Forgot password.
Who do I contact for help?▾
Visit our Contact page or the Help Center. For questions about a specific journal, use that journal's contact page.
